However, when I plug the HD into my Mac OSX, the name comes up as “Elements”, which is the WD brand. Is it possible to rename the HD? This seems to be the simplest solution. Either edit the backup task to point towards the new directory name, or rename the HD back to its original “usbshare1”. I figure there’s 2 possible solutions to “trick” Hyper Backup to relink to the task. From reading other forum posts, I think what happened is the HD was renamed when the photos HD with the same name was present. Eventually, I noticed the discrepancy was Hyper Backup expects to see “usbshare1” and the videos HD appears as “usbshare2”. I checked permissions and the Hyper Backup settings. When you grant acces to home it will be only for their own home. The homes are gathered in the homes folder. Seeing there’s 2 USB ports in my Synology NAS, I plugged both drives in. By default only themselves and admins have acces. This is a secondary backup to my C2 cloud backup of my whole drive. To make this post easier to follow, let’s say one HD backs up photos and the other one backs up videos. I have a media folder that I’m backing up between 2 external USB drives on Hyper Backup. However, I’m hoping there’s a quick fix, instead of having to start over with a brand new backup. I'd think that Synology would automatically set up the folders properly since it is a feature DSM handles (the creation of homes for all users).First of all, I realize there is a “user-error” component to my problem. I'm probably missing something obvious, but I can't think what it could be. I will also mention that the user with the issue does have a space in their username (in case that proves to be relevant). The user has permissions to read/write that folder, also. I can see the folder just fine in File Station, too. The Drive folder exists and the user has permissions for the folder and MyDrive is enabled as a location in the Team Folders section. ![]() However, it is my understanding that the default MyDrive folder is typically located in the /homes/USERNAME/Drive/ When the user logs into Drive, they are told the MyDrive folder doesn't exist. I recently installed the Synology Drive suite of apps on the NAS and I enabled Drive for one of the users. ![]() I have a single large volume set up on the NAS where everything resides. I have the latest DSM 7.1 non-beta installed on my NAS. I tried searching for this issue here, but was unable to find anything like it.
